I began as a painter and evolved into a mixed media artist guided by processes and materials personally developed through exploration and experimentation. My intention is to
create artworks that project a powerful and very physical presence. In addition to their physical nature, many of these objects are contemplative and mysterious, at once both known and unfamiliar. Experimentation and curiosity are the driving forces in my art making, guided by my intuition.
In my current work I am involved in a process of image transferring. It is quite diverse in material application and how it appears as a finished object. This creative process requires a letting go and an acceptance of what image will appear. This results in the creation of self-
discovered techniques through trial and error. Image transferring reveals structure, symmetry and spontaneous images.
I continuously discover new processes which move me from one piece or series to another. This opens up the potential for all future work; the ever expanding dialogue with material and the unknown.
